Woon Sup + Yoonju

Our Story.

Two New Yorkers, each with standards as high as the Empire State Building and personalities as stubborn as a Central Park jogger, have achieved the impossible: They found each other in the mean streets of NYC dating and emerged with true love.

We’ve decided to make it official and tie the knot. We invite you to witness the paradoxical miracle of these two unique characters becoming one.

Join us for a celebration filled with love, laughter, and a ceremony that promises to be as charming and unpredictable as the city we proudly call home.

  • Woon Sup Kim

My name is Woonsup Kim, a man who is known to be kind but not really. I try to be stoic, but it’s hard to maintain composure with my satiric sense of humor. Life’s an adventure, and I have a passion for squeezing every drop of joy out of the little things. And now, with my amazing partner by my side, we’re thrilled to dive into this new chapter of our lives.

  • Boheme Yoonju Nam

My name is Yoonju Nam, and I am a woman who stays true to myself but people often mistake me for being lost in my own dorky world. I present myself as a delicate and sophisticated woman, but my motto has always been, stay invisible and don’t attract attention. Life is a competition, and the best way to survive is to not be a part of it. It’s becoming difficult to stay invisible with this giant man by my side. I’m excited to come out of my shell and explore a whole new world together with Woon.

What was your first date like?

Yoonju loves oysters. So Woon took her to a popular oyster bar called Grand Banks. It’s on a docked boat with stunning waterfront views and the Manhattan skyline. Perfect first date, right? Yoonju ended up getting seasick and had to lie down for an hour on a bench after dinner.

What’s one thing you’ve learned from each other?

Yoonju learned that her car has cruise control, and Woon learned that he could lift a grown adult with one hand consecutively for 20+ times and pose for photos.

When did you realize you were meant for each other?

We both have quirks that others might find annoying: Yoonju spaces out and has awkward moments during conversations, while Woon struggles with reading the room and tends to roast people insensibly. We knew we were meant for each other when we realized these traits are what we love most about one another.

Who made the first move?

This never-ending debate is like arguing whether Ross and Rachel were on a break. Yoonju reached out to Woon for “help” with her job search and invited him over for dinner to show her gratitude. Woon took this as a green light and asked her out on future dates.

How did the proposal happen?

Woon took her to a restaurant on a skyscraper called PEAK NYC. This time, he avoided the boat but wasn’t sure if she would get nauseous from heights. Woon got nervous because the restaurant was packed with people. But with some liquid courage, he got on one knee in front of all the strangers. Woon had his photographer friend Zik at another table to capture the moments seamlessly.

Who has the weirder hobbies?

Yoonju enjoys watching depressing movies where the main characters start in misery and end up in even greater despair. She says they are realistic. She watches movies to admire the fashion, costumes, and overall vibe rather than the story. Yoonju also enjoys reading all kinds of books. (Ask Woon why that’s weird)

Woon enjoys watching game streams and let’s auto-play take over as he falls asleep. He starts with League of Legends, then it drifts to Diablo, and by the time he wakes up, he’s greeted by cheerful Pokémon streams. Woon also sings in a high-pitched voice… not an ick but was unexpected.
